| detailed description | The Diamond Systems EPS-8130 (Epsilon-8130) is a rugged, managed Layer 2+ Ethernet switch module offering eight 10/100/1000Mbps copper twisted pair ports in the compact PC/104 form factor. It is designed for industrial, on-vehicle, and military applications requiring reliable network switching under harsh environmental conditions. The EPS-8130 is a direct, fully backwards-compatible replacement for the previous EPS-8100 series (discontinued due to component end of life). The switch operates as a standalone unit requiring no host computer interface. All switch functions are managed by an embedded 416MHz MIPS 24KEC microcontroller. The board ships with all required firmware preloaded for immediate out-of-box operation.
